To install LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 1.1 on Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
  1. Copy all files from the MINDSTORMS CD to a folder on your desktop.
  2. Open that folder and look under "Parts".
  3. Locate MindstormsUnivEdu.pkg or MindstormsUnivRet.pkg.
  4. Right-click (control-click) and choose "Show Package Contents".
  5. Navigate into the Contents » Resources directory and delete the "preflight" file.
  6. Close this package and run the meta-package (LEGOMindstormsEngRet.mpkg) from the desktop to install MINDSTORMS NXT.

  1. Thanks. I was installing NXT 1.1 on Snow Leopard(10.6.2). I did not have the file LEGOMindstormsEngRet.mpkg, so I ran the file LEGOMindstormsEngEdu.

    Thank you so much.

  2. I have OS X 10.6.4 and I have tried all the above instructions. I don't have a preflight file only a postflight file, I think you mean that one.

  6. You can find patch that performs the above steps at: http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/support/files/Patches.aspx

After download, make sure you read the readme file.

  7. The patch copied the files to my desktop, but didn't run an installer. I still can't find any of the files you listed above. Can anyone tell me what to do next?
